On Saturday, October 4, the Berkeley Postdoctoral Association (BPA), in collaboration with the Visiting Scholars and Postdoc Affairs (VSPA) Program, hosted its first-ever BPA Postdoc Alumni Homecoming at the Raw Thrills Lounge in the Grimes Engineering Center.
The event welcomed current and former UC Berkeley postdocs for an afternoon of networking, reconnection, and community building. Attendees enjoyed light refreshments and lively conversations, sharing experiences from their time at Berkeley and updates on their current careers. Among the alumni were a postdoc who completed their Berkeley appointment 30 years ago and another who finished 10 years ago, highlighting the enduring connections possible within the postdoctoral community.
The informal gathering marked an exciting new tradition for the postdoctoral community, one that celebrates the continued impact of Berkeley postdocs around the world while strengthening ties across generations of scholars. The BPA looks forward to hosting more networking and community events where postdoc alumni can share their invaluable experience with current postdocs.
