The National Postdoc Appreciation Week at UC Berkeley warmly welcomed the postdoctoral community for a special evening to held on September 18, 2024, at the Berkeley Alumni House.
UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor for Research Kathy Yelick also graced the occasion and congratulated all the postdocs on their achievements. Delicious catered food, wine, and great music brought the community together to celebrate their research achievements while taking a break from their incredibly busy lives.
The cheerful chatter was briefly on pause by a number of exciting announcements when Dr. Katherine Yelick presented the 2024 Faculty Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring, and the Postdoc Achievement Award, and new Berkeley Postdoctoral Association (BPA) President Sina Naeimi Dafchahi shared updates on the group's aims and objectives for the postdoc community.

PostdocFest was the last in a series of events hosted by the Visiting Scholars and Postdoc Affairs (VSPA) Office this month to honor postdoctoral scholars at Berkeley and acknowledge their important contributions to U.S. research and discovery.
But that’s not all! All postdocs received a newly designed VSPA NPAW t-shirt to take home. Many postdocs in attendance walked away with cool swag and Berkeley-branded raffle prizes.
