UC Berkeley Celebrates its Postdocs with NPAW 2023

Every year institutions from across the country recognize the contributions made by postdoctoral scholars to U.S. research and discovery. This September, the VSPA and UC Berkeley will commemorate another year of postdoctoral achievements. We highlight the work done by our postdocs all around the year, but in September, we will be hosting a series of special events and panels as part of National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW). The events will be held from September 18-21.

Some major attractions from NPAW 2023 will include a professional photography session, a postdoc alumni career panel, and a Cal night at the Oakland Athletics Baseball Game! You can check out more information on the events here.

We are also organizing a #ShoutOutYourPostdoc campaign on social media platforms. So faculty and postdoc supervisors, be sure to give a shout-out to your postdocs and postdocs, shout out your fellow researchers or anyone who inspired you during your journey. In the past, the VSPA has celebrated National Postdoc Appreciation Week by hosting alumni panels, beer tastings, career advice panels, and ice cream socials, to name a few. This year too, we’re offering diverse events where postdocs can network, and make connections, but have a refreshing and relaxing week at the same time. There are both in-person and virtual offerings, so postdocs have as much flexibility as possible when it comes to attending events.
