If you have questions regarding accessing library resources, please contact the VSPA Library Liaison, Corliss Lee at clee@library.berkeley.edu. Also, subject-specialist librarians are available to support researchers in each academic department/program and should serve as your first point of contact for all research-related inquiries.

Using the UC Berkeley Libraries Information Session of Jan, 26th, 2023 Slideshow:

Berkeley Career Engagement

The Career Center is your go-to resource for job searches, professional counseling, fellowship opportunities, and more. They also hold frequent events such as job fairs, panels, and workshops.

Keep in mind that career counseling appointments are only available to Postdocs and Visiting Student Researchers 90 days after their appointment begin date.

The Berkeley Career Engagement (formerly Career Center) also administers Handshake, which is a recruiting platform that allows you to easily identify jobs and internships, connect with employers, and find out about recruiting events. The best part? Handshake works both ways - employers consistently comb through the system looking for qualified candidates like you. Handshake is also where you can find out about on-campus recruiting, workshop schedules and reservations, career fair directories, online industry and employer guides, CareerMail, and more.

Once you have a berkeley.edu email address, you can sign up. Just click the link that reads "You can also sign in with your email address". A box will appear where you can enter your campus email and create a password for your Handshake account. If you have trouble accessing Handshake, send your email address to vspa@berkeley.edu for additional assistance.
