Campus Affinity Groups

Join any number of affinity groups across campus to expand your network and explore other viewpoints to enhance your research experience at UC Berkeley. Here is a brief list to get you started.

Staff Identity Groups

These organizations celebrate the diversity of our staff members, while also offering a safe space on campus to share, support, and learn about each other. Participation in many of these organizations are a great way to meet new colleagues outside of your division, find mentors/mentees, learn new skills, and develop leadership skills. Alianza 

The Alianza Staff Organization is committed to community building, professional development, and promotion of Chicanx/Latinx staff at UC Berkeley

APASA

Asian Pacific American Systemwide Alliance (APASA) strives to promote the general welfare of Asian Pacific Islander (API) staff, faculty, and students at UC Berkeley.

BSFO

The Black Staff & Faculty Organization (BFSO) works to create a climate which is conducive to the well-being and professional development aspirations of Black staff, faculty and students. 

Cal Womxn's Network

The Cal Womxn's Network exists to create a strong community of womxn that supports collective learning and growth through social and professional opportunities. 

Gender Equity Resource Center (GenEq)

The Gender Equity Resource Center, fondly referred to as GenEq, is a UC Berkeley campus community center committed to fostering an inclusive Cal experience for all. GenEq is the campus location where students, faculty, staff, and alumni connect for resources, services, education and leadership programs related to gender and sexuality.

LavenderCal

LavenderCal is UC Berkeley’s network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer+ employees. They include staff, faculty, librarians, academic researchers, postdoctoral appointees, and visiting scholars. They welcome the support and participation of allies.

MENASA

Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian (MENASA) aims to promote the general welfare of MENASA staff, faculty, and students at UC Berkeley. 

Native & Indigenous Council

The Native & Indigenous Council addresses the needs and concerns of Native American and Alaskan Native staff, faculty and postdocs at UC Berkeley. 

SADA

The Staff Alliance for Disability Access (SADA) is a collaborative and supportive campus staff organization that addresses the needs of UC Berkeley staff members with disabilities. 

Other Special Interest Groups

University Section Club

The University Section Club is a non-profit UC Berkeley support group that provides service to the University Community such as raising funds to aid deserving students, support student-related groups, and foster scholarship and international understanding. 

NU6XB Amateur Radio Club

The W6BB Amateur Radio Club exists to connect current and prospective amateur radio operators on campus. The club promotes Public Service, Recreation, Social Interaction, Training, and Publicity for amateur radio.
